Last Week of English 103
I know this is late, but I figured I would voice my thoughts anyway. As things came to a close in English I realized that I had developed a lot of useful techniques to help me prepare for my autobiography. The variety of revision techniques I have learned this semester was actually very impressive. Now if I can take this learned skills and apply them in English 104 it would be a miracle. I was happy that we were given so much time to prepare for the autobiography because it was greatly needed.

Interpretive Essay Writing Technique
This week we began exploring techniques to help us complete our next essay, the interpretive essay. The first technique that we explored was Giving Movies of your Mind as we read. This was a technique that I had never really done before, except not in this kind of detail. It was nice to stop in between certain sections of the poems and story about the elephant to gather my thoughts and perceive what I was thinking about. I like it a lot better than reading a whole passage and having to explain it, because you sometimes forget important details. When I was creating my movies different things always came to mind and I never ran out of things to say. I look forward to exploring other techniques to help me improve my writing skills for this up and coming essay.

My first blog post
Ever since English 103 started I think I have began to find myself as a writer. Coming into this class I was unsure of what I wanted to accomplish, but now I have a better understanding of what that is. The free-writing in and out of class has helped me the most I think. It has let me express my thoughts well, and led me into some pretty interesting discussions throughout my writing. My writing skills have improved slightly already, as far as, ideas popping into my head more easily and being able to elaborate. Also the different kinds of writing we have done, like the Perl Guide Lines and the Open-Ended writing has given me a bigger incentive on where to begin. I look forward on learning how to revise our essays, so hopefully we can learn from our mistakes, which in turn will just make us better writers in the end.
